When Should You Hire Your Wedding Planner or Coordinator?

Let’s be honest—you’re probably hiring your planner or coordinator too late.

I keep seeing posts like:
“Looking for a planner 3–6 months out… why is everyone booked??”

Because the best ones are.

Not because the industry is “over saturated.”
But because weddings are happening every single day… and most planners cap how many they take on each year.

On purpose.

Because you don’t want a planner who’s stretched thin, juggling 20+ weddings, and treating yours like a task to check off.

You want someone who actually has the space to care.

So here’s the reality:

  • Full-service or partial planning → 9–18 months out

  • Month-of coordination → at least 6–12 months out

If you’re reaching out 3 months before?
You’re not late… but your options are limited.

And that’s not a bad thing—it just means the planners who prioritize quality over quantity are already booked.

Don’t underestimate us. We fill our calendars intentionally.

Your wedding deserves someone who’s fully present—not just available.

And remember — I’m always rooting for you. 🤍
